DEFINITION: One or more of the memory seat functions are inoperative and no DTCs are set.

Did you perform the Power Seat Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Attempt to set and recall Memory 1, Memory 2, and Exit seat positions.

Do the memory seat recall functions operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Disconnect the memory select switch connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire from the memory 1 switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  4. Observe the memory switch parameter in the memory seat module Input/Output data list.

Does the scan tool indicate the Memory 1 switch is active?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from the memory 2 switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  2. Observe the memory switch parameter in the memory seat module Input/Output data list.

Does the scan tool indicate the Memory 2 switch is active?

Go to Step 7

Test the memory 1 switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the memory 2 switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the memory select switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the memory seat module connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the memory select switch.
