Removal Procedure
- Remove the sliding door inner trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the sliding door water deflector. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the control rods from the sliding
door outside handle lock cylinder.
- Pry the barrel nut out of the lock assembly and push the lock
rod away from the sliding door lock assembly.
- Remove the sliding door lock module harness connector, if equipped.
- Remove the sliding door handle lock actuator
screws.
- Remove the lock assembly from the sliding door.
- Remove the outside handle cable from the lock assembly.
- Remove the sliding door outside handle bolts.
- Remove the sliding door outside handle from the sliding door.
- Remove the outside handle cable from the outside handle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outside handle cable to the
outside handle.
- Install the sliding door outside handle to the sliding door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the sliding door outside handle nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the outside handle cable to the lock assembly.
- Install the lock assembly to the sliding door.
- Install the sliding door handle lock actuator screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the sliding door lock module harness connector, if the
door is equipped with one.
- Push the lock rod towards the sliding door lock assembly and snap
the barrel nut into the lock assembly.
- Install the control rods to the sliding
door outside handle.
- Check for proper lock rod travel.
- Install the sliding door water deflector. Refer to

.
- Install the sliding door inner trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
