Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Place the hazard switch in the ON position.

Do the hazard signals operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch in the LH ON position.
  3. Place the turn signal switch in the RH ON position.

Do the turn signals operate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Turn Signal Lamps and/or Indicators Inoperative

Using a test lamp connected to ground, backprobe the battery positive voltage circuit of the C201 connector that is fed by the HAZARD fuse.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Test for an open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage circuit of the C201 connector that is fed by the HAZARD fuse. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the turn signal switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground in the battery positive voltage circuit of the C201 connector that is fed by the HAZARD fuse. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
