Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 759873  Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood scoop screws.
  5. Remove the hood scoop from the hood by lifting up at the rear of the hood scoop and sliding forward to release the hood scoop from the hood scoop mounting bracket.
  6. If you are replacing the hood scoop mounting bracket.
  7. • Drill out the hood scoop mounting bracket rivets.
    • Remove the hood scoop mounting bracket from the hood.

Installation Procedure

  1. If you are replacing the hood scoop mounting bracket.
  2. • Install the hood scoop mounting template to the hood and tape into position.
    • Drill the mounting holes into the hood through the hood scoop mounting template.
    • Remove the hood scoop mounting template and any tape from the hood.
    • Using new rivets, Install the hood scoop mounting bracket to the hood.
  3. Position the hood scoop to the hood.
  4. Open the hood.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the hood scoop screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the hood scoop screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Install the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement .
  9. Close the hood.
