Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear seat from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 1212184 Size: SH
  2. Remove the trim covers from each of the recliners.

    3. Object Number: 1212186 Size: SH
  3. Remove the latch handle screws from the rear of the bench seat back.

    4. Object Number: 1212146 Size: SH
  4. Unclasp the J-hooks from the upper seat back and lift the cover to expose the recliner cables.

    5. Object Number: 1212183 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the cables from each recliner and guide the cables through the seat back.
  6. Remove the cables from the bench seat.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1212183 Size: SH
  1. Align the new recliner cables with the rear of the seat.
  2. Attach the cables to each of the seat back recliners.

    3. Object Number: 1212146 Size: SH
  3. Install the upper seat pad with the J-hooks.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1212186 Size: SH
  4. Install the latch handle screws to the rear of the seat.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the trim covers to each seat back recliner.

    6. Object Number: 1212184 Size: SH
  6. Inspect the seat back latch for proper cable operation.
  7. Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
