Important: Always refer to the GM Approved Refinish Materials book GM P/N 4901M-D. This book identifies the paint systems you may use.
The basecoat/clearcoat paint is factory applied in the following 4 layers in order to give the finish a high gloss look:

| • | A basecoat |
| • | A clear top coat (clearcoat) |
Refer to Service Part Identification Label in order to identify the type of top coat on the vehicle. This label contains all paint related information for the vehicle. This includes paint technology, paint codes, trim level, and any special order paint colors.
