Subject: | Service VME - Power Sliding Door Inoperative Bound |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
This is a TAC PI for all Chevy, Olds, and Pontiac dealers regarding power sliding door repairs on 02-04 Ventures, Silhouettes, and Montanas. Recent parts reviews have highlighted power sliding door repairs for bound or stripped cables; it does not matter which side. It is apparent that in some cases the cable pulled out of the center roller bracket. This may be caused by improper door alignment, which causes the motor to pull with high force and bend the roller bracket fingers. If you need to replace a power sliding door assembly because of a bound cable, make sure to replace the center roller bracket if it is the style with the bendable cable brackets or appears in any way to be stressed.
