Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P). Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the body control module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computing/Integrating Systems.
  4. Remove the daytime running lights (DRL) module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Remove the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  6. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Remove the A/C module. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  8. Remove the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  9. Remove the center air outlet. Refer to Center Air Outlet Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  10. Remove the defroster duct. Refer to Defroster Air Outlet Duct Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  11. Object Number: 482588  Size: SH
  12. Remove the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.
  13. Remove the I/P carrier from the body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 482588  Size: SH
  1. Position the I/P carrier to the body.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolts/screws which secure the I/P carrier to the body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts/screws to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the defroster duct. Refer to Defroster Air Outlet Duct Replacement in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  6. Install the center air outlet. Refer to Center Air Outlet Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  7. Install the I/P air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel Air Outlet Ducts Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  8. Install the A/C control module. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  9. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  10. Install the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  11. Install the DRL module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  12. Install the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Computing/Integrating Systems.
  13. Install the wiring harness. Refer to Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Replacement .
  14. Install the I/P. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  15. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
