2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette
2004-2005 Pontiac Montana

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may report a Buzz or whistle noise coming from the "A" pillar area at highway speeds. The noise is likely to be more pronounced in cold/dry weather. The condition has been isolated to the auxiliary weather stripping that runs from the front fender up the "A" Pillar towards the "C" Pillar.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The auxiliary weather stripping should be pulled back slightly from the "A" Pillar area and both the seal and body surfaces should be clean thoroughly. Install a piece double sided sticky tape approximately eight to ten inches long to the seal, starting near the front fender going up the "A" Pillar. Re-install the auxiliary weather stripping insuring the tape is adhering to the windshield lace as well as the auxiliary weather strip. Test drive at highway speeds to verify the complaint is corrected.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
