  1. Open the RR sliding door.
  2. Attempt to turn on the hand held remote by pressing the red power button.

Does the red LED on the hand held remote illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Place the transmission in the park position.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF.
  3. Open the RR sliding door.
  4. Disconnect the mobility seat module connector C2.
  5. Using a test lamp connected to a good ground test the park switch signal circuit in the module harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. With the transmission in the park position turn the ignition ON.
  2. Close the RR sliding door.
  3. Using a test lamp connected to a good ground test the park switch signal circuit in the module harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

  1. Open the RR sliding door.
  2. Turn the hand held remote power on.
  3. Using a DMM measure the voltage of the remote hand held down switch signal circuit in the module harness connector C2.
  4. Press and release the down switch on the hand held remote.

Does the signal circuit voltage change from low to high when the switch is pressed?

  1. Using a DMM measure the voltage of the remote hand held up switch signal circuit in the module harness connector C2.
  2. Press and release the up switch on the hand held remote.

Does the signal circuit voltage change from high to low when the switch is pressed?

  1. Open the RR sliding door.
  2. Disconnect the hand held remote to mobility seat harness connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp from the voltage supply circuit terminal in the seat harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from battery voltage to the hand held remote ground circuit terminal in the seat harness connector to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the door jamb switch relay.
  2. Using a test lamp connected to ground test the battery voltage supply circuit terminals 5 and 2 to the relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate on both terminals?

  1. Place the transmission in the park position.
  2. Disconnect the door jamb switch relay.
  3. Using a test lamp connected to ground test the park switch signal circuit terminal 7 to the relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the ignition relay.
  2. Test the park switch signal circuit from the relay connector terminal 6 to the module for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the hand held remote to mobility seat harness connector.
  2. Test the down switch signal circuit to the module for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the hand held remote to mobility seat harness connector.
  2. Test the up switch signal circuit to the module for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the voltage supply circuit from the door jamb switch relay to the hand held remote connector for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the mobility seat module harness connectors. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
