DEFINITION: The power sliding door alarm is inoperative or always on. The power sliding open/close functions operate normal.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the ON position.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound continuously?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the power sliding door alarm connector control circuit terminal with a fused jumper wire connected to ground.

Does the power sliding door alarm sound continuously?

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the power sliding door alarm connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from power sliding door alarm 12-volt supply circuit terminal to ground.
  3. Turn the power sliding door ON/OFF switch to the ON position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Test the power sliding door alarm control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 12

Test the power sliding door alarm control circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power sliding door alarm 12-volt supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the power sliding door alarm. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the power sliding door alarm. Refer to Door Open Alarm Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for poor connections at the rear side door actuator control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Replace the rear side door actuator control module. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Is the repair complete?
