Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1682296 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the right front wheel well splash shield.
  4. Drain the engine oil from the engine crankcase.
  5. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .

  6. Remove the lower engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .

    7. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Remove the oil pan-to-transaxle housing retaining bolts.
  8. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts.
  9. Remove the oil pan from the engine block.
  10. Remove the oil pan gasket from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1263818 Size: SH
  1. Install the oil pan gasket to the oil pan.
  2. Install the oil pan to the engine block.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil pan retaining bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
  5. Install the oil pan-to-transaxle housing retaining bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan-to-transaxle bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  6. Install the lower engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .

  7. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .
  8. Fill the engine with proper amount of engine oil.
  9. Install the right front wheel well splash shield.
  10. Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
