For 1990-2009 cars only
- Install the exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold gasket. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the following sequence: 9, 10, 6, 5, 8, 7, 2, 1, 3, 4
- Install the exhaust manifold retaining nuts in the sequence shown.
- Install the oxygen sensor.
- Install the exhaust flex pipe retaining nuts to the exhaust manifold studs.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
- Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
- Connect the oxygen sensor connector.
- Install the air inlet duct assembly.
- Install the air inlet duct bolts.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
| • | Tighten the first stage exhaust manifold nuts to 13 N·m (10 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the second stage exhaust manifold nuts to 13 N·m (10 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the third stage exhaust manifold nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the fourth stage exhaust manifold nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft). |
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the flex pipe nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the air inlet duct assembly bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
