1. Ensure the window lock switch on the driver's door is not engaged.
2. Test each of the power windows.

Does any power window operate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 2

1. At the driver's door, remove the power window/power mirror switch retaining screw.
2. Lift up the power window switch so that the connector is exposed.
3. Turn the ignition ON.
4. Measure the voltage at terminal 10, LT GN, of the power window switch.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Repair the open power supply circuit to the driver's door power window switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Use an ohmmeter to measure continuity between ground and terminal 4, BK, of the driver's door power window switch connector.

Does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Repair the open circuit between ground and terminal 4, BK, of the driver's door power window switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Replace the driver's door power window switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. At the door with the inoperative power window, remove the door trim panel.
2. Connect a fused jumper wire to the positive battery terminal.
3. Connect another jumper wire to the negative battery terminal.
4. Disconnect the 2-wire connector that connects the window motor to the door harness.
5. Connect the negative jumper wire to one of the terminals of the 2-wire connector.
6. Touch the positive jumper wire to the other terminal of the 2-wire connector.
7. Reverse the jumper wire connections.

Does the window move up when the motor is powered directly by the battery, and down when the jumper connections are reversed?

Replace the window motor.

Test the operation of the windows.

Is the driver's window the one that is inoperative?

Replace the driver's door power window switch.

1. Ensure the window lock switch on the driver's door is not engaged.
2. Turn ON the ignition.
3. Back probe to measure the voltage at terminal 5, PK, of the driver's door power window switch.

Is the voltage measured within the specified range?

11-14 V

1. Ensure the window lock switch on the driver's door is not engaged.
2. Turn ON the ignition.
3. Measure the voltage at terminal 5, PK, of the window switch connector for the inoperative window.

Is the voltage measured within the specified range?

11-14 V

Go to Step 14

Go to Step 13

Repair the open, PK, wire between the window switch and the driver's door power window switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

1. At the inoperative window switch, use an ohmmeter to measure continuity between ground and terminal 1.
2. At the inoperative window switch, use an ohmmeter to measure continuity between ground and terminal 4.

When performing both ohmmeter tests, does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 15

Go to Step 16

Replace the power window switch.

Is the replacement complete?

System OK

If one of the window switch wires tested in step 15 does not show continuity with ground, use an ohmmeter to test the continuity of that wire between the window switch and the driver's door power window switch.

Does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 17

Go to Step 18

Replace the window switch for the inoperative window.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open circuit between the window switch and the driver's door power window switch.
