Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the front wheels. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Important: It is not necessary to remove the caliper to service the brake shoes.
- Remove the lower guide pin bolt of the caliper assembly.
- Pull the caliper piston housing up.
- Remove the brake pads.
Installation Procedure
Important: Always change all pads on one wheel at a time.
- Install the brake pads.
Important: Take care not to damage the piston seal.
- Push the caliper piston housing down.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the lower guide pin bolt of the caliper assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the lower guide pin bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft)
- Install the front wheels. Refer to
