Removal Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1265745 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the adjustment nut from the parking brake cable.
  3. Lower the vehicle.

    4. Object Number: 1265747 Size: SH
  4. Release the parking brake.
  5. Remove the parking brake/gearshift console hood.
  6. Disconnect the parking brake switch.
  7. Remove the parking brake lever mounting nuts which secure the complete parking brake lever assembly to the underbody.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the parking brake lever mounting nut which secure the complete parking brake lever assembly to the underbody.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the nut 22  N·m (16 lb ft).

  2. Connect the parking brake switch.

    3. Object Number: 1265747 Size: SH

    Important: The parking brake switch should be replaced if the BRAKE warning light in the instrument panel cluster did not glow when the parking brake was applied with the ignition switch ON.

  3. Install the parking brake/gearshift console hood.
  4. Install the adjustment nut to the parking brake cable.
  5. Inspect the parking brake adjustment.
