Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1279790  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 4 screws that secure the motor to the heater/air distributor case. Do not remove the blower motor at this step.

  6. Remove the cowl vent grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Have an assistant hold the blower fan from inside and remove the nut (1) that secures the fan to the blower motor.

  9. Holding the blower fan from outside, remove the blower motor (2).
  10. Remove the blower motor fan (1) by tilting slightly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the blower motor fan  (1) by tilting slightly.
  2. Holding the blower fan from outside, install the blower motor (2).
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Have an assistant hold the blower fan from inside. Install the nut (1) that secures the fan to the blower motor.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the blower motor nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the cowl vent grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.

  7. Object Number: 1279790  Size: SH
  8. Install the 4 screws that secure the motor to the heater/air distributor case.
  9. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  10. Install the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12. Confirm that the blower motor operates properly.
