Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 screws that secure the motor to the heater/air distributor case. Do not remove the blower motor at this step.
- Remove the cowl vent grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
- Have an assistant hold the blower fan from inside and remove the nut (1) that secures the fan to the blower motor.
- Holding the blower fan from outside, remove the blower motor (2).
- Remove the blower motor fan (1) by tilting slightly.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the blower motor fan (1) by tilting slightly.
- Holding the blower fan from outside, install the blower motor (2).
- Have an assistant hold the blower fan from inside. Install the nut (1) that secures the fan to the blower motor.
- Install the cowl vent grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
- Install the 4 screws that secure the motor to the heater/air distributor case.
- Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Install the glove box. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Confirm that the blower motor operates properly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the blower motor nut to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
