Removal Procedure
Caution: The sensing and the diagnosis module (SDM) can maintain
sufficient voltage to deploy the airbags and pretensioners for up to 1 minute after
the ignition has been turned OFF and the fuse has been removed. If the airbags and
pretensioners are not disconnected, do not begin service until one minute has been
passed after disconnecting power to the SDM. Failure to do so may cause personal injury.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK and remove the key.
- Remove the plastic cap to reveal the lower center pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the bolt, spacer, washer, and the lower center pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to

.
- Disconnect the pretensioner connector, if equipped.
- Remove the bolt, screw, washers, and the seat belt retractor, pretensioner.
- Remove the screws and the seat belt guide.
- Remove the plastic cap to reveal the upper center pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the bolt, washers, and the center pillar seat belt anchor.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the bolt, washers, and center pillar seat belt anchor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Install the plastic cap to cover the upper center pillar seat belt anchor.
- Install the screws and seat belt guide.
- Install the bolt, screw, washers, and the seat belt retractor, pretensioner.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and screw to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Connect the pretensioner connector, if equipped.
- Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to
Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the bolt, spacer, washer, and the lower center pillar seat belt anchor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Install the plastic cap to cover the lower center pillar seat belt anchor.
