To fold the rear seats forward to increase cargo space, do the following:

  1. Push the head restraints down fully. See Head Restraints .
  2. Fold down the rear seatback. See Rear Seat Operation .

  3. Object Number: 1255527  Size: B3
  4. Pull the strap located at the rear of the seat cushion and lift the seat up.

  5. Object Number: 1255535  Size: B3
  6. Fold the seat up and hold it in place using the hooks provided on each seat. You may need to adjust the length of the hook strap before attaching it to the front seat.

Caution: If either seatback is not locked, it could move forward in a sudden stop or crash. That could cause injury to the person sitting there. Always push and pull on the seatbacks to be sure they are locked.

To return the seats to the original position, reverse the steps above. Ensure that the seat cushion and the seatback are securely latched.

Removing Rear Seats

The rear seats can be removed for additional cargo space.

To remove the rear seats, do the following:

  1. Fold the rear seat forward. See "Split Folding Rear Seat" previously in this section.

  2. Object Number: 1255541  Size: B3
  3. Unlock the hinges on the side of each seat by pushing the release lever down.
  4. Lift the seat out.

To install the rear seats back into the vehicle, do the following:

  1. Place each seat in position.

  2. Object Number: 1255548  Size: B3
  3. Lock the hinges on the side of each seat by pushing the release lever up. Lift up on the seat to ensure that the hinges are securely locked.
  4. Return the seat to its original position.
  5. Ensure that the seat is securely locked.

Sliding Rear Seat

To move the center rear seat forward or rearward, do the following:

  1. Pull forward on the lever located under the front of the seat.
  2. Slide the seat to the desired position.
  3. Release the lever. Try to move the seat with your body, to ensure that the seat is locked into place.
