Removal Procedure
- Remove the windshield wiper arm. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement

- Remove the air inlet grille. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the nuts that secure the strut assembly to the body of the vehicle.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- On vehicles equipped with an antilock brake system (ABS), remove the ABS sensor line from the bracket on the strut assembly.
- Remove the brake line from the bracket on the strut assembly.
- Remove the stabilizer link-to-strut assembly upper nut.
- Remove the steering knuckle-to-strut assembly nuts and bolts.
- Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the strut assembly in the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the steering knuckle to strut assembly nuts and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the strut assembly nuts and bolts to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
- Install the stabilizer link-to-strut assembly upper nut.
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer link upper nut to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Install the brake line to the bracket on the strut assembly.
- On vehicles equipped with ABS, install the ABS sensor line to the bracket on the strut assembly.
- Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Install the nuts securing the strut assembly to the body of the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the air inlet grille. Refer to

- Install the windshield wiper arm. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
