Removal Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1265685 Size: SH

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

  2. Disconnect the brake line fitting nuts from the proportioning valve.
  3. Remove the proportioning valve mounting nut.
  4. Remove the proportioning valve.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1265685 Size: SH
  1. Install the proportioning valve.
  2. Install the proportioning valve mounting nut.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten to 7 N·m (5 lb ft).

  3. Connect the brake line fitting nuts to the proportioning valve.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake line fitting nuts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

    Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Add the brake fluid.
  5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Inspect the system for leaks.
