Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1279862  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
  4. Remove the 2 nuts on the air conditioning (A/C) pipe line flanges on both sides of the condenser.

  5. Object Number: 1279863  Size: SH
  6. Remove the O-rings and discard them.
  7. Remove the 2 condenser-retaining nuts.
  8. Remove the condenser.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1279861  Size: SH
  1. Install the condenser to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 2 condenser-retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the condenser retaining nuts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install new O-ring seals to the A/C pipes on both sides of the condenser.
  6. Install the 2 nuts to the A/C pipe flanges.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the discharge hose flange nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
        • Tighten the drier flange nut to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).
  8. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
  9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
