Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1279859 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove 2 bolts and the air inlet duct.

    4. Object Number: 1279861 Size: SH
  4. Remove the nut on the flange of the compressor and sealing washer.
  5. Remove the nut on the flange of the condenser.
  6. Remove the O-ring and discard it.

    7. Object Number: 1291926 Size: SH
  7. Remove the discharge hose.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1291926 Size: SH
  1. Install the discharge hose.

    2. Object Number: 1279861 Size: SH
  2. Install a new O-ring seal to the discharge hose at the condenser flange.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the nut to the condenser flange.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

    Important: The washers must be seated to the surface of the block fitting.

  4. Install new sealing washers to the pilots of the suction/discharge block fitting.
  5. Install the nut on the compressor flange.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  6. Install the 2 bolts and the air inlet duct.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  7. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
