Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. .
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the snorkel and air cleaner housing.
- Remove the nut on the compressor flange.
- Remove the sealing washer and discard it.
- Remove the 2 nuts on the flange of the evaporator.
- Remove the O-ring and discard it.
- Remove the bolt (1) and the nut (2) that secure the charge hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install a new O-ring seal to the suction hose at the evaporator flange.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the 2 nuts on the evaporator flange.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).
- Install new sealing washers to the pilots of the suction/discharge block fitting.
Important: The washers must be seated to the surface of the block fitting.
- Install the nut on the compressor flange.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (1) and nut (2) that secure the discharge hose.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Install the snorkel and air cleaner housing.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
