Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is
not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any
underhood electric fan.
Caution: To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked,
or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the snorkel bolts.
- Remove the snorkel assembly.
- Remove the fan shroud lower mounting bolts.
- Remove the bolts at the power steering pipe hose bracket.
- Remove the fan shroud upper mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Disconnect the clamps at the fan shroud.
- Lift the fan shroud assembly upward, and remove the fan shroud assembly from the vehicle.
- Remove the fan motor retaining nuts.
- Remove the fan motor from the shroud.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fan motor to the shroud.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the fan motor retaining nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the fan motor retaining nuts to 3.2 N·m (28 lb in).
- Install the fan shroud assembly to the vehicle.
- Connect the clamps at the fan shroud.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the fan shroud upper mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the fan shroud upper mounting bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the bolts at the power steering pipe hose bracket.
- Install the fan shroud lower mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the shroud lower mounting bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the snorkel assembly.
- Install the snorkel bolts.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
