Maintenance Schedule Europe

Normal Vehicle Use

The maintenance schedule found in this manual are for vehicles that:

    • Carry passengers and cargo within recommended limits
    • Are driven on reasonable road surfaces within legal driving limits
    • Use the recommended fuel

Important: Additional maintenance recommendations are in this subsection. Also refer to Owner Checks and Services .

The services shown in this schedule up to 120 000 km (72,000 mi) should be performed after 120 000 km (72,000 mi) at the same intervals.

Footnotes

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the California Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform this maintenance item will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior to the completion of the vehicle's useful life. We, however, urge that all recommended maintenance services be performed at the indicated intervals and the maintenance be recorded.

(1) Change the engine oil and oil filter every 7,500 km (4,500 mi) or 6 months, whichever comes first, if the vehicle is operated under any of the following conditions:

    • Short distance driving
    • Extensive idling
    • Driving on dusty roads

(2) More frequent maintenance is required if driving in dusty conditions.

(3) Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .

(4) Change the brake/clutch fluid every 15 000 km (9,000 mi) if the vehicle is mainly driven under the following severe conditions: driving in hilly or mountainous terrain or towing a trailer/caravan frequently.

(5) More frequent if operated under severe conditions:

    • Short distance driving
    • Extended idling
    • Frequent low speed operation in stop-start traffic
    • Driving in dusty conditions

(6) Inspect when abnormal condition is noted

(7) Rotate and balance wheels, if necessary,

(8) Change automatic transaxle fluid every 75 000 km (45,000 mi) if the vehicle is mainly driven under any of the following severe conditions:

    • In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 32° C (90° F) or higher
    • In hilly or mountainous terrain
    • When doing frequent trailer towing
    • Uses such as taxi, police or delivery service.

Important: Check the engine oil and radiator coolant levels every week.
