Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the nut that secures the starter ground wire to the lower mounting stud.
3. Disconnect the ground wire.
4. Remove the starter solenoid nut.
5. Disconnect the starter solenoid terminal-to-battery cable terminal.
6. Disconnect the ST-terminal connector from the starter solenoid.



7. Remove the starter-to-transmission mounting bolt.
8. Remove the starter-to-engine block mounting bolt.
9. Remove the starter assembly.

1. Install the starter assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the starter-to-engine block mounting bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the starter-to-engine block bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

3. Install the starter-to-transmission mounting bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the starter-to-transmission mounting bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

4. Connect the ST-terminal connector from the starter solenoid.
5. Connect the starter solenoid terminal-to-battery cable terminal.
6. Install the starter solenoid nut.

Tighten
Tighten the starter solenoid nut to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

7. Connect the ground wire.
8. Install the nut that secures the starter ground wire to the lower mounting stud.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
