Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1263596 Size: SH

    Notice: Do not over-flex or damage the flex joint when moving the flex joint from the normal mounting position.

    Notice: To prevent internal damage to the flexible coupling of the catalytic converter assembly, the converter must be supported. The vertical movement at the rear of the catalytic converter assembly must not exceed 6 degrees up or down.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the nuts that secure the exhaust front pipe flange to the main catalytic converter flange.

  3. Remove the gasket.
  4. Remove the rubbers from the hanger welded to the front muffler pipe.
  5. Remove the nuts that secure the exhaust front muffler flange to the main catalytic converter flange.
  6. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1263673 Size: SH
  1. Install the gasket.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the exhaust front muffler flange to the main catalytic converter flange nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  3. Install the hanger rubbers welded to the front muffler pipe.
  4. Install the gasket.

    5. Object Number: 1263596 Size: SH
  5. Install the exhaust front pipe flange to the main catalytic converter flange nuts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
