Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1256151  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the coolant system pressure.
  2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove the electronic ignition (EI) system ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
  5. Notice: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  6. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  7. Remove the ECT sensor from the EI system ignition coil adapter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1256152  Size: SH
  1. Coat the threads of the ECT sensor with sealer.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ECT sensor into the EI system ignition coil adapter.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine coolant temperature sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the EI system ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
  6. Connect the ECT sensor connector.
  7. Fill the coolant system.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
