  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Use a voltmeter to measure voltage at the wiper relay connector terminal 15.

Does the voltage measure within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 3

Repair the open circuit between wiper relay connector terminal 15 and fuse F11.

System OK

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Turn the wiper switch to INT.
  3. Measure the voltage at wiper relay connector terminal I.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

11-14 V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Test for an open circuit between wiper switch connector terminal B1 and wiper relay connector terminal I.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 5

Repair the open circuit between wiper switch connector terminal 1 and wiper relay connector terminal I.

Did you find and correct the condition?

--

System OK

Go to Step 11

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Turn the wiper switch to INT.
  3. Measure for pulsing voltage at wiper relay connector terminal 53E.

Does the voltmeter indicate a pulsating voltage that is within the specified range?

11-14 V

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 8

Using a ohmmeter, measure the resistance between ground and the wiper relay connector terminal 31.

Is the resistance equal to the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Repair the open ground circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

System OK

Replace the wiper relay.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Measure the voltage at the wiper switch connector terminal A6.

Is the voltage pulsating within the specified range?

11-14 V

Go to Step 11

Replace the wiper switch.

Repair the open circuit between the wiper switch and the wiper relay.
