For 1990-2009 cars only
- Turn the front wheels straight ahead.
- Turn the lobe of the clock spring clockwise to lock.
- Then turn the lobe of the clock spring counter clockwise approximately 3 turns to the neutral position, with the front of the wheels straight ahead.
- Properly align the pointed marks on the components of the clock spring.
Notice: Do not rotate the steering wheel or move the position of the steering gear once the intermediate shaft is disconnected. This will uncenter the Inflatable Restraint coil in the steering column. If the Inflatable Restraint coil becomes uncentered, it may be damaged during vehicle operation.
Important: Do not force.
