🢒 Folding Top Side Rail Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the folding top from the vehicle. Refer to
Folding Top Replacement
.
Remove the rear side weatherstrip. Refer to
Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Replacement
.
Remove the rear side weatherstrip retainers. Refer to
Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement
.
Remove the side tension cable. Refer to
Folding Top Cover Rear Side Tension Cable Replacement
or
Folding Top Cover Front Side Tension Cable Replacement
.
Remove the 3 bolts from the folding top side rail (1).
Disconnect the right or left number 4 bow as required. Refer to
Folding Top Number 4 Bow Replacement
.
Disconnect the right or left number 3 bow as required. Refer to
Folding Top Number 3 Bow Replacement
.
Remove the torque tube (2).
Remove the folding top link. Refer to
Folding Top Link Replacement
.
Disconnect the buttress lift cable from the spring.
Remove the folding top side rail (1) from the top.
Installation Procedure
Position the folding top side rail (1) to the top.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the 3 bolts to the folding top side rail (1) and tighten to
10 N·m (89 lb in)
.
Connect the right or left number 4 bow as required. Refer to
Folding Top Number 4 Bow Replacement
.
Connect the right or left number 3 bow as required. Refer to
Folding Top Number 3 Bow Replacement
.
Install the ball socket infold drive link.
Install the side tension cable. Refer to
Folding Top Cover Rear Side Tension Cable Replacement
or
Folding Top Cover Front Side Tension Cable Replacement
.
Connect the buttress link cable to the spring.
Install the rear side weatherstrip retainers. Refer to
Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement
.
Install the rear side weatherstrip. Refer to
Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Replacement
.
Install the folding top to the vehicle. Refer to
Folding Top Replacement
.
Inspect and test the folding top for proper fit and adjustment. Refer to
Folding Top Adjustment
.
