Removal Procedure
- Partially open the folding top.
- Remove the rear weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Replacement.
- Remove the rear weatherstrip retainer. Refer to Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement.
- Remove the folding top rear locating pin. Refer to Folding Top Rear Locating Pin Replacement.
- Disconnect the side rail (1) link socket and transfer the ball stud to the new part. Position the ball stud to the rearmost position in the slot and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Detach the cable grommet (1) from the rear rail bracket.
- Remove the cable roller screw (1).
- Remove the front upper screw (1) from the number 1 bow assembly.
- Remove the rear rail (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear rail (1).
- Install the front upper screw (1) to the number 1 bow assembly and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Attach the cable grommet (1) to the rear rail bracket.
- Install the cable roller (1) screw and tighten to 3 N·m (26 lb in).
- Connect the side rail (1) link socket.
- Install the folding top rear locating pin. Refer to Folding Top Rear Locating Pin Replacement.
- Install the rear weatherstrip retainer. Refer to Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Retainer Replacement.
- Install the rear weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Side Rear Weatherstrip Replacement.
