The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may complain that intermittently they can not hear any sound from the center channel when playing a DVD. The center channel normally contains the voices in a movie on a 5.1 Surround sound DVD. This concern may happen if the Play button is pressed while a chime event is active.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Do not make any repairs for this concern at this time. Engineering is aware of this concern and is working on a repair.

Advised the customer do not press the play button while the chime is active. If this concern does happen, changing the source from DVD to tuner and back to DVD brings back the Center channel or turning on the RSA also brings back the Center Channel. Ejecting the DVD then reinserting it will bring back the center channel, but this will lose the current spot in the movie and restart from the beginning.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
