Front Side Door Lower Molding Replacement Acadia

Preliminary Procedure

Using a J 25070 Heat Gun in a circular motion, warm the lower edge of the front side door molding prior to removal. Carefully clean the body panel thoroughly prior to bonding the new lower body side molding to the door.

Front Side Door Lower Molding and Retainers (Qty:  12)

Procedure

  1. Using a J 38778 or equivalent, release the retainers securing the door lower molding to the door.
  2. Close the door upon assembly of the new molding.
  3. Begin with the center retainer, secure, and work outward from the center securing the remainder of the molding to the door.
  4. Release the adhesive tape backing and wet out completely.

Front Side Door Lower Locating Hole

Procedure

Align the pin on the backside of the molding to the hole prior to securing the retainers.

Front Side Door Lower Molding

Procedure

  1. Close the door upon assembly of the new lower front door molding.
  2. Align the locator pin and secure the retainers.
  3. Release the adhesive tape backing and using a clean shop towel and the palm of the hand, completely wet out the entire periphery of the molding in order to assure complete adhesion of the lower front door bodyside molding.

Front Side Door Lower Molding

Procedure

  1. Align the 12 retainers to the holes in the door.
  2. Working from the center outward in both directions, secure the retainers.
  3. Remove the protective liner on the backside of the molding after all of the retainers are secure.
  4. Wet out the entire periphery of the molding to the lower door.
