Some customers may comment on a condition where the manual transmission shifter may intermittently hop out of gear. The condition primarily happens when the vehicle is operated in 1st gear, but may also happen in 3rd and 5th gears.
GM Powertrain would like to receive product feedback on Colorado and Canyon vehicles with this condition, prior to any repair attempts. If your Service Department receives a vehicle with this concern, please document the customer complaint and verify that the vehicle has not been serviced previously for this issue.
If the repair technician (or other service department diagnostician) confirms the concern by a road test of the vehicle, please call one of the following individuals before beginning repair procedures:
