When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Various Driveability, A/C, IPC, Engine Control, Trans, and EVAP Concerns
Some vehicles built prior to VIN breakpoint 48103559 (last 8 digits - Colorado/Canyon, no VIN break point available for the Mailbu) may have a condition with the PCM connector male pins causing them to damage the female terminals of the PCM connector. The leading edge of the pin may have a irregular profile, which may spread the female terminal upon insertion. Vibration during driving, may in time, cause a intermittent connection. The damage to the female terminal can be visually inspected with a magnifying glass and proper lighting or using a pin drag test. If you diagnose a vehicle concern to a fault in the PCM harness connector on any 2004 Chevy Colorado and GM Canyon built prior to VIN breakpoint 48103559 and replace the female pins on the connector, be sure to inspect the PCM male pin for correctness. It is possible that the male pins of the PCM could re-damage the new female terminals in the harness. If a male PCM pin looks suspect then replace PCM to complete the repair.
IMPORTANT: If there is no damage to the female PCM terminals, then the PCM does not need replacement. Do not replace the PCM.
