The following service procedures require either a programming or a setup event preformed for a complete repair.
If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
• | Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn in Engine Controls - 2.8L (LK5) |
• | Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn in Engine Controls - 3.5L (L52) |
Important: Ensure that the CKP variation learn procedure is performed after reprogramming.
If the powertrain control module (PCM) requires programming, the following procedures must be performed:
The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.
If any of the following components are replaced, a crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure must be performed:
• | Engine replacement |
• | Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel |
• | CKP sensor |
Refer to one of the following procedures:
• | Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn in Engine Controls - 2.8L (LK5) |
• | Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn in Engine Controls - 3.5L (L52) |
