The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When servicing components which require removal of the door trim panel, or servicing the power door lock, window or mirror switches, it is important to remove the switch plate in the proper manner.
Recommendation/Instructions:
After removing the two attaching screws in the door trim pull-cup, you must lift the front edge of the switch plate FIRST to disengage the retention clip. If you lift the rear edge first, the clip tower will be broken off and the door trim switch plate will have to be replaced.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
