The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment that when removing the key from the ignition the Service Engine Soon (SES) light remains illuminated.

Technicians may find DTC P1682 and P2610 stored. This may be the result of the following relays in the Underhood Bussed Electrical Center (UBEC) installed in the wrong position: Relay 51, 52, 53, 54, 55 and 56. These relays are located near a number of empty cavities in the UBEC that are not utilized for this vehicle. During service, these open cavities may have been confused with the correct location resulting in the relay being re-installed in the wrong position. The above symptoms were the only ones noted however other symptoms may apply.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Review the Electrical Center Identification View below. Be sure the body of the following relays are in their correct positions.

Relay 51 - Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor, Fuel Pump and Sender Assembly

Relay 52 - Fog Lamp - LF, Fog Lamp - RF

Relay 53 - FR PK LP Fuse, RR PK LP Fuse, RR PK LP2 Fuse

Relay 54 - RH HDLP Fuse, LH HDLP Fuse

Relay 55 - Horn Assembly

Relay 56 - ETC Fuse, O2 Sensor Fuse
