Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1749355 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  3. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet hose quick connect fitting from the AIR check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    4. Object Number: 1749361 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the AIR check valve.

    5. Object Number: 1749363 Size: SH
  5. Remove the AIR check valve studs (3).
  6. Remove the AIR check valve (2) and gasket (1). Discard the gasket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1749363 Size: SH
  1. Place a NEW AIR check valve gasket (1) between the engine and the valve.
  2. Position the AIR check valve (2) to the engine.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the AIR check valve studs (3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten to studs to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the AIR check valve.

    5. Object Number: 1749355 Size: SH
  5. Connect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting to the AIR check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  7. Close the hood.
