Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 888407  Size: SH
  3. Remove all retaining screws from the HVAC module case halves (1 and 4).
  4. Separate the HVAC module case (1 and 4).
  5. Remove the screw from the mode cam.
  6. Remove the mode cam.
  7. Remove the defrost door linkage from the defrost door.

  8. Object Number: 888411  Size: SH
  9. Remove the defroster door (1) from the HVAC module assembly (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 888411  Size: SH
  1. Install the defroster door (1) from the HVAC module assembly (2).
  2. Install the defrost door linkage from the defrost door.
  3. Install the mode cam.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screw to mode cam.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.9 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Assemble the HVAC module case (1 and 4).
  8. Install the screws to the HVAC module case.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Install the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
