Condition

Some customers may comment on a chime sounding and a battery message displayed in the Driver Information Center (DIC).

Correction

Important: The Instrument Panel Cluster will not be recalibrated using the Service Programming System. The recalibration is performed using a special function of the TECH 2®.

Technicians are to recalibrate the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) using the TECH 2®. The calibration program will be released beginning with TIS satellite data update version 3.0, which includes TECH 2® update version 24.001, to be available on March 8, 2004. As always make sure your TECH 2® is updated with the latest software version. The IPC Recalibration procedure is accessed on the TECH 2® using the following steps:

  1. Connect the TECH 2® to the vehicle.
  2. Build the vehicle and select Body.
  3. Select Instrument Panel Cluster.
  4. Select Special Functions.
  5. Select IPC Recalibration.
