Service VME - Ignition Switch Binds - keywords key lock remove tumbler turn

This PI is being updated to add additional model years. Please discard PIT3883.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Should a customer indicate that the ignition switch binds when rotating through the various positions, cut a new key prior to replacing the ignition switch assembly. This should eliminate the binding condition.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
