The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment on windshield wiper activation when the ignition key is turned on, even though the wiper switch is turned off, which causes the wipers to cycle one to three times before stopping somewhere on the windshield. This concern may be intermittent and DTC B3715 B3718 may be stored in the BCM. This may be caused by an open wiper park circuit between the BCM and wiper motor.
Inspect for an open in circuit 196 (yellow wire) between the BCM and the wiper motor and ensure there are no loose/damaged terminals at the BCM or wiper motor connectors. Two areas of concern were noted by TAC cases. The first was under the EBCM and the second was above the BCM approximately 8-12 inches from the BCM connector located behind the IP. Use a fused jumper wire in place of circuit 196 as a test to verify the correction. If the condition is corrected with the fused jumper wire, locate the open in circuit 196 (yellow wire) and repair using approved methods.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
