Removal Procedure
- If the vehicle is equipped with OnStar® refer to
Mobile Telephone and Navigation Antenna Coaxial Cable Replacement
in
Cellular Communication.
- Lower the front portion of the headliner to reveal the digital radio antenna
connectors. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in
Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the digital radio antenna connectors (1).
- Detach the 2 upper coax cable retainers from the header panel.
- Detach the 3 coax cable retainers from the windshield pillar.
- Lower the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door to a full down position.
- Disconnect the digital receiver extension
cable (1) from the receiver .
- Remove the retainers (2) from the I/P.
- Disconnect the electrical connector (3).
- Remove the extension cable from the vehicle.
- Detach the coax cable retainer (3)
from the I/P.
- Attach a mechanics wire to the end of the coax cable (2).
- Detach the coax cable retainer (4) from the hinge pillar.
- Grasp the cable (1) and pull upward to release the retainer from
the hinge pillar.
- Pull upward to remove the cable from behind the I/P.
- Remove the cable from the vehicle leaving the mechanics wire behind the
I/P.
Installation Procedure
- Attach the existing mechanics wire to the
end of the coax cable (2).
- Pull downward on the mechanics wire to install the cable behind the I/P.
- Attach the coax cable retainer (4) to the hinge pillar.
- Attach the coax cable retainer (3) to the I/P.
- Connect the digital receiver extension cable (1)
to the receiver .
- Attach the retainers (2) to the I/P.
- Connect the electrical connector (3).
- Close the (I/P) compartment door.
- Attach the 3 coax cable retainers to the windshield pillar.
- Connect the digital radio antenna connectors (1).
- Attach the 2 upper coax cable retainers to the header panel.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
