Adjustment Procedure
- With the door closed, inspect the following gaps. If adjustment is necessary, loosen the rear door hinge bolts and adjust the door by moving the door in the following directions:
- Inspect/adjust the rear door to roof gap (crew cab).
• | The gap (A) should be 7-9 mm (0.27-0.35 in). |
• | The flushness (B) should be 0-1.5 mm (0-0.06 in). |
- Inspect/adjust the rear door to rocker panel gap (crew cab).
• | The distance from the edge of the rocker to the door (C) should be 1-3 mm (0.04-0.12 in). |
• | The gap (D) should be parallel to within 1 mm (0.04 in). |
- Inspect/adjust the rear door to rear cab gap (crew cab).
• | The gap (A) should be 4-6 mm (0.16-0.24 in). |
• | The flushness (B) should be 0-1.5 mm (0-0.06 in). |
- Inspect/adjust the rear door B-pillar gap (crew cab).
• | The gap (C) between the rear door to the B-pillar flange is 12.5-16.5 mm (0.49-0.65 in). |
• | The gap (D) between the front of the rear door and the rear of the B-pillar should be 14.5-18.5 mm (0.57-73 in). |
- Inspect/adjust the rear side access door to rear cab gap (extended cab).
• | The gap (A) should be 4-6 mm (0.16-0.24 in). |
• | The flushness (B) should be 0-1.5 mm (0-0.06 in). |

- When the proper adjustment specifications are set, tighten the rear door hinge bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the rear door hinge bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
