Rocker Panel Retaining Plate Replacement XTREME

Removal Procedure

    Important: This procedure is for the front and rear rocker molding retaining plates located on the pick-up box:

  1. Raise the vehicle to gain access to the lower rocker molding retaining clips.
  2. Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  3. Apply masking tape to protect the painted surfaces.
  4. Remove the rear wheel opening flare. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 1505378  Size: SH
  6. Remove the front section of the rocker molding retaining plate on the pick-up box.
  7. Remove the push-in pins across the underside.
  8. Push upward to release the molding from the retainer.

  9. Remove the rocker retainer plate.
  10. 6.1. Drill out the rivets.
    6.2. Remove the rocker molding retaining plate.

    Important: This procedure is for the rear section of the rocker molding on the pick-up box retaining plate:

  11. Remove the rear wheel opening molding. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement

  12. Object Number: 1505499  Size: SH
  13. Remove the push-in pins across the underside side of the rocker molding.
  14. Remove the rocker molding (1).
  15. Push upward to release the molding from the retainer.

    9.1. Drill out the rivets.
    9.2. Remove the rocker molding retaining plate (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1505378  Size: SH
  1. Install the front section of the rocker molding retaining plate to the vehicle.
  2. Install the rivets to the rocker molding retaining plate.
  3. Install the rocker molding to the retaining plate.
  4. Install the push-in pins across the underside of the rocker molding.

  5. Object Number: 1505499  Size: SH
  6. If doing the rear section rocker molding retaining plate (2).
  7. Install the rivets to the rocker molding retaining plate.
  8. Install the rocker molding (1) to the retaining plate.
  9. Install the push-in pins across the underside of the rocker molding.
  10. Install the rear wheel opening flare. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement
  11. Remove the masking tape.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
