Circuit Description

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) cannot operate normally, when system voltage is too high.

DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC C0900 Device Voltage High

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The EBCM detects ignition voltage is greater than 17.5 volts.
    • The vehicle achieves a speed greater than 7 km/h (4 mph).

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

If equipped, the following actions occur:

    • The EBCM disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP).
    • The EBCM disables the TCS.
    • The Antilock Brake System (ABS) indicator turns ON.
    • The brakes message is displayed.
    • The traction fault message is displayed.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The conditions for setting the DTC are no longer present and you use the scan tool Clear DTCs function.

Replace the electronic brake control module (EBCM). Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

  1. Use the scan tool to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC, as specified in the supporting text.

Does the DTC reset?

Go to Step 2
