The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

When servicing the ignition switch and/or Passlock sensor, it may be difficult to locate the correct part in the parts system. The ignition switch and Passlock sensor are one assembly. The switch and sensor are part of the ignition cylinder housing that the ignition cylinder is placed into.

Recommendation/Instructions:

To locate the ignition switch/Passlock sensor housing assembly, it can be located in group 2.188 of the parts catalog and is labeled as "Housing Kit, IGN & Start SW". This part is the ignition switch/passlock sensor housing and does not include the ignition cylinder. The service procedure and illustration can be found in eSI Document ID # 1747813. It will also be necessary to replace the 2 shear bolts, P/N 26028106 when servicing the ignition switch/passlock sensor housing assembly.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
